NOW Magazine: Store of the Week

STORE OF THE WEEK
Timmie Doggie Outfitters

ANDREW SARDONE

Hold onto your leashes. Timmie Doggie Outfitters is bringing its high-design pooch boutique concept to Leslieville, opening a sister store to the west-end Trinity Bellwoods location tonight (Thursday, October 9).

Since 2006, owners Georges Khayat and Paul Ryu have been raising the taste level of Toronto mutts with their collection of pet clothing, accessories, treats and food. Their graphic and advertising design background means these pet products are more chic than cutesy; a fashionable selection of four-leg-friendly coats and sweaters will get your pup through fall and winter.

Modern pet furniture including Holden Design’s bent plywood dog beds and Everyday Studio’s powder-coated pet dishes help an animal household keep up its hoity appearance.

Timmie Doggie Outfitters picks: Wooden wine boxes are converted into raised double feeders, $199 to $250; vintage-inspired rubber squeak toys are perfect for kitschy canines, $9 to $27; Toronto belt maker Brave has created an exclusive line of leather Timmie collars, $45 to $95.

Look for: A grooming spa for both fidos and felines.

TIMMIE DOGGIE OUTFITTERS 1178 Queen East, 416-406-4999, timmie.ca.
Hours: Monday to Friday 11 am to 7 pm, Saturday 10 am to 6 pm, Sunday noon to 5 pm.
